Silent and live art auction a must for art lovers

An ‘out with the old art and in with the new’ Creative Raglan Art Auction is on its way.

A fundraiser for the Raglan Old School Arts Centre, the six-week exhibition runs from Saturday 12 October until the live auction evening on Saturday 23 November 6–8pm.

This is a great way to refresh your art collection and support the Old School which organises the Raglan Arts Weekend plus exhibitions and workshops throughout the year.

Jane Galloway curated the exhibition and says “there are some quality pieces by well-known Raglan artists who would not normally make their work available at such affordable prices. They have been very generous with their donations. The show is an eclectic exhibition of local art covering a broad variety of media. It will be interesting to view it just to discover the range of creativity we have in Raglan.”

Centre manager Jacqueline Anderson thinks people should be thrilled with the artworks on offer. “There’s an awesome lineup of stunning pieces to be won at auction.”

Bidders can also take their chances on the silent auction, which starts on opening night. You will need to return to check your bid hasn’t been outdone by someone else though, so try to get to the live auction night or you may be out bid.

Opening night is Saturday 12 October 6-8pm – all are welcome and refreshments are available. Silent auction is open daily for bidding weekdays 10am-2pm.

A selection of artworks are reserved for Julie Hannah to put under the hammer on the closing evening when the silent auction bidding also ends Saturday 23 November.
